Port Foody Kids: Vera’s Burger Shack

I guess I’ll start talking about Vera’s. It all started in 1977 in West Vancouver, Vera and her husband Frank, opened a burger shack. With a lot of love for burgers and a lot of love for their growing number of customers, Vera’s Burger Shack became very well known as a “great place to get burgers” (Mmm! My stomach is rumbling just thinking about it.) When Vera and Frank decided it was time to retire, their grandkids took over and started serving the next generation of customers. I’m glad this local Vancouver restaurant opened in Port Moody and to count Port Foody as one of that next generation of customers.
Last week we went to visit Vera’s Burger Shack in NewPort Village. I, of course, had a Veggie burger with real cheddar cheese, ketchup and mustard and it was definitely #2YUMMY4U. Naturally, we enjoyed a big plate of fries (for those of you who may not know what I mean, I mean fried potatoes of the French variety, originating in, of all places, Belgium.) My companion (my dad) enjoyed a Big Chick with lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, Havarti, bacon, fried onions and BBQ sauce. Well that’s all for now, our next Port Foody kids post will be on… why should I tell you? It’s a secret!
